Greyhound Foundation Golf Tournament Raises Support for Kids Through Rain and Shine
Rainy skies. A morning storm. Wet fairways. A forecast that could have tempted anyone to stay home.
Instead, everyone came.
The 9th Annual Greyhound Foundation Golf Tournament proved once again that this event is about much more than a round of golf. It is about showing up for education. It is about standing behind teachers, students, classrooms, teams, programs, and the kind of learning experiences that help young people discover what they can do.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the rain seemed to interrupt itself just long enough for a great day of golf. Golfers played through the weather with laughter, patience (we had a few very focused teams), and purpose. Sponsors stood behind the mission. Volunteers (who we could never do without) kept the day moving. The Greyhound community turned the tournament into another meaningful show of support for kids.
Everyone came. Everyone played through. Everyone helped make the day count for kids.
That is the kind of memory a successful tournament leaves behind - that's what golf umbrellas are for right?
